Interpreters and Transliterators of Color
ITOC
RID-SIG
Why would I join ITOC?

Good Question!  Slowly we are trying to get communication nationwide.  Read Jeannette Ocampo Welch's
Letter to the membership for the upcoming goals.

As a member, you have a vote in ITOC matters.

As a member, It shows RID that we represent a large percentage of the membership and need to have our
concerns heard and numbers shown.

As well, we have an ongoing account with RID.

And within the next few months, the ITOC membership will have a membership pin to proudly wear!

What if I am not ready to join?
Our power is in our numbers. Our power is in our ability to vote. However, This website is available to view
and you can always participate in the online discussions because as an Interpreter or transliterator of
Color, your issues do not disappear without your membership. ITOC still needs to hear from you.

Is there an ITOC yahoo group?

RID Membership Renewal

Yes, you do have to be a member of RID to join ITOC.
RID is our professional organization.
ITOC is a Special Interest Group under RID. There are many benefits to membership including current
information (VIEWS) about how our profession is changing! It also includes availability of group insurance
rates.  Check out the RID website
www.rid.org

Membership renewal was mailed out last month and is coming back strong!  Be sure to send in your
renewals early, preferably by June 1, to avoid a lapse.

What if I have already sent in my Renewal?
f someone wants to join any MS (ITOC) after they are a member, they can just fill out a membership
application but only select the Member Section. There are no dues, but you can make a donation.

What if I (or anyone) wants to donate to ITOC?
If someone wants to contribute to a MS, just send in a check along with a letter stating what it is for so we
know how to allocate it.
