What is ETC? EdTerpConnect is an information sharing network. Website: www.edterpconnect.com (that page links here) Gmail addy: edterpconnect@gmail.com Google group: edterpconnect@googlegroup.com UPCOMING EVENT: Educational Interpreters Connect on May 4th, 2008 Boston, MA Who is ETC? Jeannette "JO" Ocampo Welch, CI; CT; EdK12 is the RID Interpreter's in Educational and Instructional Settings Region 1 Delegate. ETC is the way to get the word out about the latest news from RID and around the country. I am just getting the ground work down, really, ETC is YOU. What can I offer? What do I get? Membership to any organization is not required to access this information. I will be honest, it is part of the goal. As a member of RID and MassRID, I encourage membership. There are many changes happening for Educational Interpreters, especially in the K-12 setting. We need to be "at the table" to share our experiences, talk about effective practices and be heard. Googlegroups are a one stop shopping for information. It can save files, poll you for your opinons, and if you want, ask questions of your colleagues to start discussions. What you get is a connection to other Interpreters. Is the ETC event for me? Do you work in an educational setting (K12, Post-secondary, etc)? Then this is for you! We are sharing information about state, regional and National news. We also need to know what you need. Please come, please share! Logistics for May 4th Sunday is free street parking. It is at Boston University which is minutes away from Fenway Park. It is a game day, but it doesn't start for hours. Got more question? Need more answers? Click here. |
